Dimensional Stability: Due to very low Z-axis shrinkage and expansion, prepregs retain structural integrity when exposed to thermal stress, minimizing the potential for failures in vias and providing a stable PCB platform.

Bond Strength: Strong bonding to copper foils and between layers ensures the multilayer PCB remains intact over its useful life, with bond strengths often exceeding 2.5 N/mm.

Thermal Resistance: High decomposition temperature prepregs (Td > 300°C) can withstand high temperatures, charring, and delamination.

Moisture Resistance: Low moisture content (<0.5%) cuts down issues related to electrical leakage and vapor-induced reliability problems.

Flame Retardancy: Prepregs hold robust flame resistance as per UL 94 V-0 standards, which is paramount in safety-critical applications.

Storage and Handling: Prepregs are stored in sealed polythene bags to avoid absorption of water. They are kept at optimal conditions of 18-25°C temperature, and they are to be utilized on a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) basis.

Quality Control Testing: Prepregs undergo intense tests, such as resin flow tests, dielectric constant tests, and flammability tests, to ensure that they meet desired specifications before use in the manufacture of PCBs.
